For the first time, Saskatoon Blues Society sent an act to compete in the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, hosted by The Blues Foundation! To be selected to compete, all acts must win the competition hosted by their local affiliate, so the acts competing are the best of the best, from all over the world.
SBS is honoured to be the Saskatchewan affiliate of the Blues Foundation.

Congratulations to Jack Semple who won our local IBC competition! It was a night of great music. We extend our thanks to all the great musicians who competed and look forward to seeing even more of you competing next year. We also need to thank all the judges: Neil Bergen, Sue Scharf, Joe Callahan and  Al Wood, who worked hard to select a winner.  We know it wasn't easy with so many great performances. Also, big thanks to SK Arts for the grant that helped this happen. Finally, thanks to Johnny, Dale and all the other staff at Bud's for making it all work so well.

Jack put on some great performances in Memphis and made it to the semi-finals! Thanks, Jack for making us proud!
