About this artist:

Megan Lane

"Music means everything to me; it is my release, my passion, and my love..." (Megan Lane)

"...Every city we play in draws a crowd because word gets out that I’m a 18-year-old girl who plays a mean guitar, but once we start to play, who I am on the outside is no longer a factor. One hundred percent emotion is put into my music, and that’s why audiences want more once they see me play. I get lost in my music, and they feel my intense passion. I began writing and performing my own material at the age of 12, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I started out strictly playing the blues, now blues is just my canvas, and the painting that is created on that canvas is anything and everything it wants to be. I describe moments in time through music, capturing my most intense feelings inside of songs..."

So says Saskatchewan’s singer/songwriter and guitarist Megan Lane, who, together with band members Jordan Trask (drums) and David "The Squid" Parker (bass guitar) have been rockin’ out all over the country. Their sound - a rock, blues and jazz fusion - combines Megan’s own unique style with the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Fiona Apple, Jonny Lang and Jeff Buckley. Megan’s steamy vocals, moving lyrics and passionate guitar playing create a performance that is not only classic, but fresh and original.

Megan Lane has been regularly booked in venues in major cities across Canada including Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal - just to name a few. Main stage performances at many music festivals have included The SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, The Ness Creek Music Festival, The Delta Blues Festival, The Flatland Music Festival, and The North Country Fair. Megan has been featured on CBC Radio's "The Gallery" and on CTV’s “Good Morning Canada”. Her songs are heard on CBC radio, Rawlco radio and many community radio stations throughout Canada.
